The National Kidney Foundation estimates that 350,000 people in the US have end-stage renal disease and about 67,000 people die of kidney failure every year. In the year 2000, 47,000 people in the US were waiting for a kidney transplant. The lack of organs available for transplantation is a serious problem. By signing a donor card, an individual indicates their wish to be a donor. It is important to share your wishes with your next of kin as they will be asked prior to a donation.

Karma

I should have found the owner of the 20 bucks I found. I more than likely would have not gotten a 30 dollar parking ticket.

J said...: Yup. When I find money, I usually give it away. The last time I found $20 on the ground, I picked it up. It was during a race. Anyway, I know someone would be bumming. Chance had it that at the finish there was a group collecting donations for pillow for the troops or some such. I dropped it into their donation bucket. Deinitely karma.; February 22, 2009 at 9:10 AM
