15th Would have been the day

Well today the 15th would have been the day that I would have had my transplant. Michele and I are in bed writing this. She said it is good to write the blog and give a little cry when you are not in the best of moods. I honestly almost forgot today would have been my day for the transplant if my aunt Marsha did not call me. I guess I wonder if I had chosen the other type of dialysis would I be getting a robe on now getting ready for surgery. Who knows? It has been really tough today. I am glad Michele and my sister and Austin are with me. They don't know but them just being here is really good for me. I also had lunch with the guys at work and had dinner with Ryan and Leslie and Matt. So I had friends around all day

I feel like such a wimp I am really crying when I am writing this. At this point the cavs are down 3. OK back to being a man. Later

I'll agree with Michele -- everybody needs a release every now and then, and a good cry falls into that category. I'm sure this will be a very difficult day for you, but I'm really glad you have Michele, Austin, and everyone else in such a huge support network to be there for you. Hang in there.

I love you so much! You are a great person and this blog and yesterday prove it. Not many people can have almost a dozen people going to lunch just to see them. You are also very lucky to have an anxious donor waiting in the wings. We have all learned a different way that we want to live our lives from this experience that many people would never know until it is too late. I believe the difficult times are behind us and there are only good things to come.

Neal,
I know what you mean about today not happending--we were all looking forward to it so much. Playing basketball with you yesterday was SO great though! I enjoyed beating you (had to get that in here!). You've come SO far from when you had the chest tube in that I was just so grateful to be able to have you at the house for a cookout and a game. Keep getting out there, stay busy, and keep losing at basketball and you'll get yourself healthy enough for the surgery. Love you buddy. Ryan

Neal,

I don't know if you remember me but I work with Ryan and we've hung out a few times a while back (ghetto bowling, bachelor paintball, scavenger hunt, etc.). Ryan's been keeping me up to date on how you've been and Carissa (my wife) and I have been thinking of you and Michele. I know Ryan was really looking forward to today and I can only imagine what you and him are both going through right now. You are great friend to him and Leslie. If there is EVER anything that we can do for you and Michele please let me know. I plan to check in on the site to see how your doing and you'll continue to be in our thoughts.

Ryan can only beat me in basketball because I am ill. I swear I have never seen something so uncordinated as Ryan shooting hoops. I think there is hope for him. I see many years of PIG in our future.

Hey, did you call my son uncoordinated??!! Oh, well, you must have made a mistake! Actually, I have a great blackmail picture of Ryan in middle school basketball. It just never was the sport for him!
Well, I've been thinking of you and Ryan all day today. I'm sure that everything will work out. You just need a little time to recoop. Take care!
