The National Kidney Foundation estimates that 350,000 people in the US have end-stage renal disease and about 67,000 people die of kidney failure every year. In the year 2000, 47,000 people in the US were waiting for a kidney transplant. The lack of organs available for transplantation is a serious problem. By signing a donor card, an individual indicates their wish to be a donor. It is important to share your wishes with your next of kin as they will be asked prior to a donation.

Wednesday

Just talked to Neal. He is going to dialysis this morning and then having the endoscopy this afternoon potentially. He is feeling fine. There is really nothing else to report.

Unknown said...: I got to see Neal yesterday and he looked pretty good and was in decent spirits. I told him that we don't plan to have him work at the hospital at all when he comes back. I think he's been there enough in the past year! Take care Michele. We're around if you need the lawn mowed or something.
